I have the same problem. I lost my IE icon and had to go through MSN (came with my Dell 5-6 yrs ago) to get onto the internet. Using Start, then Run and typing iexplore works, my favorites are even still there, Thanks! But when I followed the rest of the instructions, "To get the icon back, right click the desktop, choose properties and in the desktop properties click on the Desktop tab.

In the Desktop tab, click Customize Desktop and tick the Internet Explorer box under Desktop icons."

There was no Internet Explorer box to tick. Any ideas?
