Comments on: Can’t send email from Outlook Web Access using Vista

I am hoping you have come across this or know what to do. I purchased a new dell, Windows 7, 64 bits, it has IE version 8. I got everything to work except the issue below which I really need.
When using Outlook Web access “OWA” to access work Email, I can open up, see the emails but cannot forward, reply or create new. It opens up a box but the Message section will have small box with red line thru it. I already changed the trusted zone per your suggestion but did not fix it.
any idea? thank you so much

Was also suddenly having a problem sending emails after three years with the same machine on Vista.Used the fix described below and I can now send. Don’t have any idea what changed but it now works.

I tried your fix and was so excited thinking it was going to work…………it didn’t. When I click on send, the hour glass just keeps timing and says sending message. I’m so sorrry I switched to Vista, I wish I had my old pc back. Any ideas would be appreciated.

i am also facing the same problem my internet explorer occasionally stops working and ask to restart although it recovers the previous postion but isn’t it time consuming and inefficiency of IE7.

I could not receive information on my iphone or computer using my outlook email account. The advice below which I used from this site worked for me! As a independent rep, I am my own MIS guy. Having information like this available VIA internet is fantastic! Thank you very much….

The problem is the security settings in Internet Explorer 7. By default many functions are blocked and this restricts many of the scripting features required for remotely connecting to Outlook.

To fix this you need to add the site to the Trusted Zone. Go to your Outlook web page and click Tools and Options.
Select the Security tab then the Trusted Sites zone. Click Add Sites to the Trusted Zone then Add a Site to the Trusted Zone, make sure you take the tick off the box that reads Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.

Save the settings and restart Internet Explorer and the problem should be fixed.
